Bio
Cecilia Testart is an Assistant Professor at Georgia Tech, holding joint appointments in the School of Cybersecurity and Privacy, and the School of Computer Science. Her research is interdisciplinary, lying at the intersection of Internet measurements, network security and policy. By designing methods to characterize how system operators use core Internet protocols at large, her research brings new understanding on operators’ behaviors, how they differ from inappropriate behaviors – whether malicious or unintentional –, and how protocol design, practices and incentives impact those behaviors. Her work received a Distinguished Paper Award at the ACM Internet Measurement Conference (2019) and she was selected an EECS Rising Star (2020). Cecilia completed her Ph.D. at MIT advised by David Clark. She also holds S.Ms in Technology and Policy and in Computer Science from MIT, an M.Eng. from Ecole Centrale Paris and B.S in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Chile.
