Bio

Dimitra Papagiannopoulou studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Patras, Greece, and then completed her Master’s in Embedded Systems Design at the Department of Computer Science. She continued her studies at Brown University, where she earned both her Master’s and PhD degrees. Following that, she joined the faculty of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Massachusetts Lowell as an assistant professor. Her research interests lie in the areas of computer architecture, embedded systems, multiprocessor synchronization, and approximate computing. Her teaching has been focused on computer architecture and microprocessor systems design. Throughout her career, she has mentored numerous undergraduate and graduate students. She has been a strong advocate for promoting equity and inclusion within her field and has worked to foster a diverse academic environment that empowers underrepresented groups in STEM.
