Bio
I direct HCIed (Pronounced as H-C-I-ed, Human Computer Interaction Engineering and Design) Lab at Texas A&M University’s Computer Science & Engineering department. HCIed lab is a multidisciplinary research lab working to foster end-users to attend to the greater challenges that human being encounters, such as inaccessibility of everyday physical interfaces, energy costs of computing, and biases, through digital fabrication and design research. I believe in the potential of end-users as innovators, who can devise adaptive solutions if they are aware of those overlooked issues.
I develop new hardware and software systems and novel interaction techniques. Provided with the libraries and toolkits for fabrication and (re)programming, I invite end-users to tackle known modular-programming strategies, such as mix-and-match, unit-testing, model-view-controller (MVC) model, and fork the existing augmentations to repurpose them.
My research is recognized by NSF CAREER Award, Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Award, Adobe Fellowship, and numerous media outlets including ACM Tech News, IEEE Spectrum, New ATLAS, and many more.
