Bio

Megumi Ando is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Tufts University, where she’s been teaching and conducting research since Fall 2023. Her work explores how to design anonymous communication systems that offer strong cryptographic guarantees. Before joining Tufts, Megumi was a Lead Cybersecurity Research Scientist at the MITRE Corporation, where she led independent research projects and advised federal agencies such as the U.S. Department of Commerce. She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) and Mathematics, along with a master’s in EECS, all from MIT. Supported by a MITRE fellowship, she went on to earn her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Brown University in 2020, where she was co-advised by Prof. Anna Lysyanskaya and Prof. Eli Upfal.
