Bio
Dr. Monica Agrawal is an assistant professor at Duke University. She is jointly appointed between the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics and the Department of Computer Science in addition to an affiliation with Duke AI Health. In her research, she tackles diverse challenges including scalable clinical information extraction, smarter electronic health records, and human-in-the-loop systems. She was named a 2022 Rising Star in EECS and is a Duke Whitehead Scholar. She is also the co-founder of a health technology startup, Layer Health. Dr. Agrawal earned her PhD in Computer Science at MIT and previously obtained a BS/MS in Computer Science from Stanford University.
