Bio
Suzanne Rivoire is a Professor of Computer Science at Sonoma State University (SSU), one of the 23 campuses of the California State University system, where she currently serves as the Vice Chair of the SSU Academic Senate. Her primary area of expertise is computer architecture, with a focus on energy-efficient computing in large-scale environments such as cloud and high-performance computing. In 2015, she won SSU’s university-wide President’s Award for Excellence in Scholarship, and in 2024, one of her research students became the second-ever student across the CSU system to be recognized by the Computing Research Association as an Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher. She has a B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin (2001) and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University (2003 and 2008), all in electrical engineering.
